Why now?
Conventional generation plants are being decommissioned and sites need to be rethought – and this process requires expertise that brings together engineering, law and strategy.
Conventional power generation sites are progressively being taken off the grid. Decommissioning is not a simple technical procedure – it is a multi-layered process of permitting, workforce reduction, hazard removal and reuse planning.
Developing a former power plant or industrial site into ‘Powered Land’ – with grid connection, permits and technical layout – requires interdisciplinary expertise that is rarely found under one roof.

We develop decommissioning concepts for conventional generation sites – from the closure notification and technical concepts through to hazard removal and preparation for demolition. In doing so, we assess the reuse potential and develop scenarios for subsequent use.
We develop utilisation concepts for new energy sites – so-called ‘Powered Land’ sites. With our network of grid operators, land developers and infrastructure project developers, we lay the foundations for future-proof energy parks.
